I should have all my answers tomorrow. I talked to my dad about it and he has 3 electrical engineers from consumers coming in for a meeting with him at work. He is going to talk to them while they are there.

Your best bet is the Transformer, I work for Consumers myself. I would be interested in what the geek squad has to say....

My dad sent me a brief text after talking to the consumers engineers. I will get more info later but they told him it that it is very common in the older parts of grand rapids to have this power. I live in the country but on an old farm. You can run single phase off it with no problems and it doesn't matter which legs you hook to. That makes my day! I will eventually get a transformer but for now I am going to use the idealarc 250 I have on single phase and deal with the shitty amount of 120 and 240. I cannot run 277 like on standard 480 though which makes no difference to me at this point.

Hooked up my 440 single phase Lincoln idealarc 225 today and ran a few rods and It Ran like a champ. I'm excited to start building stuff!
