Default Dodge ram experts 09+ 1500s

Im looking at used newer body style rams they look pretty good and have a very nice interior on them. I have owned an 03 and 04 ram before. Ok trucks but did have a few issues with them. Are the newer trucks better built? How is the coil suspension in the rear? How is the New hemi on fuel mileage?

I have had several as well. I currently have a 12 with a hemi. Getting between 15.5 to upper 16 mpg. I do not drive on the highway and do drive it a bit heavy footed. I have the crew cab. It rides much better and has way better power than the previous version. These are built better, and are quieter than before too. You are welcome to swing by and check it out if you want. Also,I work at a dealership if you need a hand finding one. I have heard people say the current version tows much better as well.

No matter what pretty sheet metal they bulid it's still a dodge. Lol
Actually my father In law has a 11 ram and it decent on gas. He get right at 19 mpg on highway. His is a 2 wd ccsb. When we went to Tennessee I got 22 mpg in my 09 gmc ccsb 2wd truck but mines and xfe. So they are comparable.
My wife has a 12 ccsb 2wd ford with the ecoboost v6 and so far the best it is getting is 17 mpg.

thanks man...I went and test drove a 12 on friday I was impressed by how nice the interior was and the ride. One thing I noticed was a loud ticking from 3 different brand new hemi trucks when you first start them. It was for about 3-4 seconds. Even the sales guy was shocked by the noise. Does yours do this? Its just on start up? Have you towed much with yours?

I have not noticed the tick on mine. Seems like some have a ticking noise and some don't. Not sure why that is. I have not towed much, but just picked up a Jeep and trailer this summer and towed it locally. Seemed ok,and was much better after I put on a brake controller. I am guessing the weight to be 5500 to 6000 pounds.

ok, these were brand new on the lot 2012 5.7l hemis that im talking about. They were at the brighton dodge dealer. Have you checked the computer fuel mileage vs hand calculated to see how acurate it is?

I never checked by hand. When i fill it up it says i should go about 400 miles on that tank and its usually pretty close. It has gotten better with miles.

Thats a bummer. The power wagon is a little different than a normal 1500.

what kind of mileage do you get when mixed driving? How is the power with the 4.56 gears? I love the hemi but my only complaint with it has been its lack of low end grunt compared to other V8s on the market. Logic tells me that with the 4.56s that issue would be solved!
