Maybe the years meshing together has something to do with your reason for posting this thread. I agree with steveo (that felt weird to type) that part 3 will be "My name is Dave and I have a problem..."

My recipe that everyone seems to think is the best one they've had.

1 gallon of cider
1/2 gallon of apple juice
1 cup of sugar
8 cinnamon sticks

Bring to a boil, then cool to room temperature.

Add a bottle of Everclear and pour into mason jars. Put a cinnamon stick in each jar and stick them in the fridge, wait AT LEAST one day but even better after a few! Find a designated driver.

If you want to kick it up a notch, I found that adding some white rum doesn't really change the flavor but it does increase the octane. I usually only do that to one of the mason jars. and I only add 2-3 shots to it. I also prefer to serve mine on the rocks!

Personally I think you really gotta get the boil to release the cinnamon right! Just cuz the cider changes flavor doesn't mean it's a bad thing! I've been thinking of cutting some of the sugar and adding some brown sugar to see what happens!

Dont boil it, simmer it. heat it until its just steaming, not bubbling.

I use brown sugar in mine, it is better than white suger IMO. I dont much like white granulated sugar anyways. Sodapop, its ok to be wrong in your opinions, its not like its going to lower my opinion of you anyways. I used to make apple pie in welding school and sell it for 30/$$ a half gallon.

Ok fine I won't boil it. One recipe says to simmer for 2-3 hours....
Sound right?

I use 1 part everclear to 4 parts juice mixture. I simmer it for a couple hours or until its cooked down enough to add the everclear and still be able to put it back in the gallon jugs the juice came in.

Damn it! I hate it when my opinions are wrong!

That seems like a really long time! I've only ever just brought mine to a boil and then shut it down. Maybe I'll have to try another method to do a little comparison drinking!

Why does Michigan have to suck and not sell real everclear. Next time I go south I am buying a case or two. I am jealous of you people making apple pie.

the way i make it and have never gone wrong is 1/2 gallon apple juice, 1/2 gallon of apple cider, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 1/4 cups of brown sugar, 4 cinnamon sticks, 1/2 liter of everlcear *thank god i can get everclear* or 151. Bring bring it up to a boil and do so till the cinnamon sticks open up; doesn't take long at all. Stir it occasionally as you wait for the sticks to open up. The whole point of bringing the heat up is making sure the sugar is properly dissolved. After its cooled down to room temp could take a few hours so be patient. Slowly stir in the ever clear. Put it in the containers that the apple juice and stuff came in or mason jars *personal favorite way* some with cinnamon sticks in some without. The reason being some people don't like the added cinnamon flavor its going to get from sitting. Now this is key, put it in a dark cool place for at least 2 weeks if u can hold out that long. The flavor and smoothness of it with be stellar. It keeps for a long time as well i got a few jars 2 months old and they are amazing. Everyone has their own ways of doing it and ive had a few where no sugar is used * the guys wont give up their recipe* and it was amazing and ive had a few that had no sugar and were nasty as all get out.

LOL. I worked in Colorado for 4 months a couple years ago, you people are as bad as the califaggots. On top of that your boiling your pie. Makes sense though, your beer sucks too. I bet its boiled as well. The only good thing to come out of Colorado is weed.
