Sorry if I did not come across right on the brake comment- I meant that the current axle needs a brake job anyway, so swapping an axle would still mean needing a brake job. That's why I figured that the U-bolts would only be the additional cost.

Thanks man, I'll check for a tag this week-end.

So, with your price range of $50 ~ $100 for a AMC 20, got any idea of what the price tag would be on one of those wide-tracks?

Would you by chance have a steering column? Previous owner broke the cover off as well as the ignition tumbler, so currently you use the rod on the top of the column to start and shut off. Nephew could use to have that replaced as well.

Also, I'll be honest with you, it would probably be 2 or 3 weeks before I have an opening on a week end that I could come your way to pick up the axle or other parts, so I don't want to make you think I'm hitting you up with a bunch of questions to just not buy anything from you.

Thanks for your time.

amc 360 has about 80-85k on it and ran good before it was stored

$100 for a amc 20

we have a couple of non tilt columns all of the tilt ones are gone

and that is fine just let me know when you can make it over here

Thanks for the price on the AMC 20. I crawled under it Saturday and of course, no tag! Shop is full-up right now, so no room to push it in and pull the diff cover to count teeth.

Jeep currently has a non-tilt column. Nephew's a skinny-wirery guy, so he can probably deal without a tilt. What do you want for one of your non-tilt columns then?

OK, info passed onto the nephew and the tenitive date to head your way is Oct. 27. I'm still going to try and find the time to pull the diff. cover and see what ratio is in there. Let me know if the 27th will not work for you.
Thanks
