Gearing question deep gearing question lol

i got my 1994 dodge ram 2500 ctd 60 front and 70 rear with a 360 pretty much stock besides headers , .30 over, aftermarket computer, Automatic tranny. It currently has 4.11's which is way to high of a gear for my 40's. I plan on going to 42's eventually well see how it works out. But as for gears i was doing the math and there is only a 300 rpm difference between 5.13's and 5.86's. Anyone run these gears kinda interested how they feel and how well they do in the offroad areas in michigan since thatll be where ill be in june.

Gear them deep or go home...7.17!!!!

I was happy with 5.38 gears for 2 4.0L/aw4 cherokee/comanche rigs I had with HP44/9" and another with HP60/14 bolt even on the highway with 37-40" tires.

is it a ctd or gas? youll be plenty happy with 513s. any lower gears and you will have a small pinnion and risk the chance of breaking the teeth off
