We used to go up to the UP and watch the water cross. They had drags 3 wide and a 3 lap circle track. What a blast. Fun to watch a sled smoke a jet ski.

I couldnt view the vid,Im on my phone.
There is no better adrenaline rush then crossing a fast moving river on a stock snowmobile,150 miles from your truck/hotel room.A few drops of water on your belt are the difference between swimming or riding.

I have done this several times myself. Across a river or two and across the open spot on Houghton Lake at the inlet on the south end that was about 100 yards across and on the north end where is wasnt frozen completely. And a few smaller open spots on White Lake.

Its alot of fun just not when it sneaks up on you like the north end of Houghton Lake.

Also had a buddy sink his in about 4-5 ft of water. I think that was at the south end of Houghton but I was not there for that one, haha.

I've seen drags, but not circle racing, that is badass.

If you search, there used to be races, run oval laps around a pond. Snowmobiles stripped down to just a tub, skis, motor and a track. A lot of the races were 5 laps or more. Cool stuff.


Probably should have watched a video, I would have seen what I was spouting about.

they used to hold a event in three rivers a while back, it was a straight run across a decent sized pond/manmade lake but it was always a great time watching. every round they moved them closer and closer to the water until they were in the water taking off. kinda cool going to a campground in the heat of summer to watch snowmobile racing
