I use Speedway all the time.

MY Speedway rewards card+company credit card for gas in company vehicle=free money.

Well, not really- it's a perk in lieu of a real raise.

Yeah, I don't see much pump and then pay gas anymore.

To take that a step further I don't see many people that actually go inside to pay anymore.

It sure is frustrating though when you pull in behind someone and you see them get out and start walking inside. Then you notice the line at the register 10 deep as well.

I stop at quite a few stations that you can still pump before you pay. Most are away from the freeways though.

I hate going in to pay first, cause then it means I have to give them cash, have the pump turned on, then go back in for my change.

It's much easier to swipe my card, reach the limit, hang up the pump, swipe my card again, and finish filling up. All while talking on my cell phone.

I like it when I see that, especially when I plan on paying with cash. It mean my cash purchase it's subsidizing your credit purchase.

FWIW, I was up north a two years ago or so and I stopped at a station to fill up that had individual pumps for regular, mid, and premium. It was funny watching my friend's face as he tried to figure out how to turn the pump on. Then the look on his face as the numbers rolled back to zero and the guy used binoculars to check the gallons sold when we paid.

Also 2x on silveradoboy's gift card idea. I had an attendant at a speedway tell me about this plan.

I usually don't carry enough cash to get a pop let alone pay for gas. But when I have to go in on the rare occasion that they don't have pay at the pump or it's not working it usually goes something like this:

"How much are you putting in?"
"I don't know, until it's full."
"How much is that?"
"About 3/4's of a tank."
*silence*
"I'll just turn it on, come in and pay when you are done."

Can you scan multiple gift cards at one fill up? or if you have 2 or more cards do you have to do two different fill ups?

No you can only use one card but you can have more than $100 on the card.
For example:

You get a $100 on the card and only use $60 to fill up, next time you go to get gas you just put another $100 on the card and then your balance is $140 and still get the bonus points. Just keep the same card, it is much easier.

That's interesting. I never really paid attention to them and didn't know they were refillable.

Seems worth it.
