Default Any gas station employees here?

Any one know if the triggers on gas pumps are adjustable? My local speedway station has extreamly tight triggers on thier pumps. I'm not complaining about not being able to pull the trigger, but trying to top off my bike it poses a spillage problem, and trying to stop at an even dollar amount is pretty much impossible! Needing so much pressure to get the pump to start flowing means a 5 cent blip! Over a day of people trying to catch the even dollar amount means their raking in extra $$ all day.

Aren't most all stations pre-pay now?

I don't see the problem, if you pre-pay cash it stops automatically for you, if you use a card who gives a care if you go over.

You might ask someone in a family that installs/maintains gas station equipment...

Live in a better area. NONE of the gas station I go to are Pre pay. If I pull into one that is, I will leave and find one that isn't

How many speedy points do you get with 4 gallons of gas?

Seems the convenience of not having gas on your tank is enough to wave the speedy points for something with a bigger tank.

Most places I go will make change if you don't stop at an even dollar amount.

My roommate's parents own a gas station and he said that it has to do with the pump pressure and not the nozzle.

I just broke 100,000 points. $100 free gas card I guess. Took like 3 years though.

Agreed. I fill up, and pay for what I use. Change is worth something too.

Hard to pre-pay for exact amount on a fill up.

My point here being is that the pumps are either full on, or off. Theres no way to throttle them back to ease to the dollar or to the tank top. To me, it just seems like another way they can clip each customer for a few extra pennies adding up up over the course of each day. Along with the saftey factor of fuel spillage on a bike tank.

tinfoil hat crew.

gas station margins on gasoline sales are literally pennies. they make a LOT more money on retail sales for snacks/softdrinks, lotto tickes, smokes and the like.

Odd that the 1/2" gas nozzle is impossible to get fine control of, but the 1 1/8" diesel nozzle has high precision flow control.
