I've had some POS vehicles.....

But nothing like this.

Outside the Warren Home Depot on Hoover.

Has an impressively bent frame.

Not sure how the driveshaft stays in this thing.

Those generation trucks from '95 up, the front of the bed was mounted by sheet metal standoffs from the back of the cab. When the cab mounts rot off, the bed only falls 2 inches, the cab falls 6, taco'ing the truck.

GM designers best work!

I can't help but think that at one time that was a nice vehicle. it's a shame when people drive something into the ground like that and couldn't care at all. just like contractors that spend 40K on a new truck and not more then 3 months later it looks like a damn demo derby car.

Wtf you talking about? That is a sweet chev. It probobly has 300,000+ miles on it like most I see in that shape.

I know what you mean about people trashing their work trucks. If a contractor shows up in that old pos,I have no problem. If a contractor shows up in a two yr old truck full of dents and a wasted box side, his bid goes in the circular file.If you cant take care of your equiptment, you cant work for me.

I saw one like that at scrap yard. Hauling stuff in. Saw better looking trucks in the scrap pile. I have pic on my lap top that I cannot post. When opened the doors almost hit the ground. And two bigger people piled out. Kind of like clowns in a circus car.

Bet that he has a better retirement fund than any of us though. He's obviously not spending his money on the truck so he must be putting it somewhere.

There are these U shaped straps that get bolted over u-joints at each end of the shaft.

I don't because there is a lot more they would pull off the road than stuff like this. Neither of my jeeps would pass from the engine swaps alone.

PA used to fail you if your tires stuck out from the factory flares at all... and you were not allowed to run non factory flares. I think that may have changed though, as now when I go out there are all sorts of tires sticking out.

A friend used to change his wheels/tires to stock so he was on 30" tires and 6" of lift to go get his Jeep inspected out there. It was stupid.

I too wish we had inspections.....not to the level that pa or ca has....just something to keep unsafe shit off the road. Working in the auto repair industry i know the amount of broke ass unsafe shit that is out there driving around and its down right scary. And, with no inspection, people have no motivation to fix it....they will keep blowing their cash on fast food, beer and smokes while driving their broke shit till it does not move. It would be great to be able to red tag it so they either fix it or park it. I don't care if you drive a old rusty pos....but atleast make sure the critcal systems ( stopping, steering, ect) are in good shape rather than endangering everyone you share the road with

:end rant:

define your thresholds of "good shape" - anything that takes more distance to stop than say a porsche 911 gt2, or can't corner like a Rossion is unsafe in my opinion. it's a miracle we don't all die every day we get in a car.
