Default 97 Xj D30 Outer Shaft - Rust Spot Okay?

In disassembling my D30 I noticed this rust spot that is 2.5 - 3 mm in diameter at the outer edge of the machined surface for the seal. You can see the micro-polished line on the left where the lip of the seal rides. Will this shaft be okay to use given the location of the rust spot?

What does the increased OD at the right edge of the rust spot contact?

Thanks,

Rick
