Here's some pics from the trip. What a great time we had. The weather was perfect and we had a great group to go wheeling with. A special thanks goes to UORC for orchestrating the trip.

Welcome banner at the cabins where we stayed

Weather for the week. It did get a little cooler than this at night, especially when the trails ended closer to Lake Tahoe.

First day we went to Shirttail Canyon and hit a nice water hole.

Water jumping fun

Crossing the bridge

While we were on Fordyce Creek we heard a loud crack of lighting that just a little while later we noticed had started a fire on the side of one of the mountain sides not too far from the trail.

Even though we had no phone service we figured we probably should call it in and report it. 911 worked and put us through to the fire department that then transferred us to the Forest service. We gave them the GPS coordinates and within about 20 minutes there was a helicopter there to survey the fire. Not too long later another helicopter came and did several water drops to put the fire out. Nothing like helping Smokey the bear.

The trees out there were huge

Encountered a little bit of carnage on the 3rd winch hill on Fordyce

spun the axle housing of a brand new Currie Rock Jock

Had to remove the drivers side coil over, as it was bent and the pig was pointing down.
This was the first trail fix. A piece of wood ratchet strapped between the frame and the lower link. Finished the last 3 winch hills on Fordyce in 2wd. Kenny did awesome. Sure there was winching involved, but not nearly as much as there could/shouldv'e been

Once we got off of the main trail to flat land, there was a nice pile of cut up wood near the campground. Found just the right piece to wedge in, ratchet strap and make the almost 2 hour drive home.

A 2nd night of camping on the trail, this time, just past the first water crossing on Fordyce

Camping on the trail next to a rushing river.

A little carnage on Soup Bowl on the Rubicon Trail. Nobody got hurt and it only took out a windshield frame.

Awesome pics as usual Paul! We've actually just started planning our trip out there, in two years though.

I had to post something exciting to end the night. You know I have a lot more pics. At least I held off on the video of the flop...at least for tonight.

Thanks Luke. But, you know they look so much better shiny. Just when I didn't think anybody was looking.

Look. Now, you're on all fours (the Rubicon Trail). You even still have a complete windshield frame.

Your favorite.

The water was kinda deep

Looks like you left some red paint behind
