Yes I searched. I'm not looking to go metal, or even re-roof entirely.
The shingles on the house are only about 4 years old. The siding is maybe 5 years old.
The torrential downpour two Friday's ago left an unpleasant water spot in the vaulted family room ceiling.
I got up in the attic over the garage/family room (common trussed attic)
With the aid of a high powered LED light, I can see that the wood roughly in the region of the fireplace chimney is wet.
Not sure if the roofers didn't properly flash it, or if the siding guys fubared it when installing the vinyl on the fireplace chimney.
More than likely, by this weekend I will have the drywall down, along with the insulation in the 2' gap between the above said trusses to act as an inspection area and to ensure a lack of mold growth.
Regardless, looking for someone that is not only capable, but willing to perform the necessary repairs (up to and including any rotted wood - no idea how long this has been leaking) - as well as possibly installing a reverse gable roof over the adjacent deck that is further downslope of the leak (if there are funds left over after the repairs - with grad school tuition coming due that is a pretty remote possibility at this point)
