not happy with comcast

Just got my bill after two years of service and it is doubled. I have tried calling several times but the delay is ridiculous.

I got tired of having to call every few months, threaten to cancel, get transferred to 12 different people, all to keep my rate the same.

I switched to Uverse. So far I'm happy with it. I pay more now, but I've added a bunch of extra shit that I never had with Comcast. The difference is every month my bill is the same and will be until I add something different.

They just burried a fiber optic cable by me, so U-verse may be an option soon.

what types of service do you have, and how much?

I was paying $105/month for internet, cable, one HD TV, and 1 DVR.

I wish I could go elsewhere, but out here it's either them, dial up, or satellite internets. Unfortunately the lesser of evils, but they suck the big one.

I just went through the same thing after they raised my bill 9% per month. After a failed first attempt I called back and talked to someone different and got my bill lowered 32 dollars/month for the next year.

I'm stuck with Comcast here too, I've played the price game with them twice now to keep my same rate for phone, internet, tv. Sucks, but I have no other options, if someone else came through the area, I'd leave Comcast in a heart beat.

I know this won't help with phone or tv, but we switched from Hughesnet to this Verizon 4G LTE hot spot. It works pretty darn good, speeds seem fast to me, and it is portable so you can take it world wide with you. I think we have 2gig of band width for $50/month. The device is expensive but not too outrageous.

Exede blows Hughesnet out of the water and depending on how much you want to get the price is comparable to Verizon 4G, they do slow it down after you use up the allotment instead of charging you more money, but it's still plenty fast. Starts out at around 12 Mbps.

My parents just got Comcast and they are happy with it. The guy at Comcast said that after the promotional price expires to shop around for the deals and switch. He said he works for Comcast and still does that. The only downside is you have to re-memorize the channel numbers when you switch.

My roommates and I decided to go with U-Verse over Comcast.
I think we pay like $107/month for 4 TV's and DVR, HBO and all the fancy stuff with decent amount of channels and the second fastest internet which is pretty damn fast!

I would switch if I were you!

Install mess from Comcast. I didn't notice this spaghetti until a couple of days later when i moved the ceiling tiles to run some ethernet cable.

After 30 minutes of my own time this is what I did. It's not the best work but a little better then what they did.

The Charter bill here is around $260/mo. We are running 2 HD DVR's, 20GB intraweb, 1 digital box, and no premiums except the HD channels, and Velocity, which is what Speed TV should be.

o.O

I pay $138/mo for 1 HD box, expanded basic (3 tv's analog if it matters for comparison) 30 gig internet - no premiums other than the "hd upgrade" expanded basic. zero DVR's and I'm pissed to be paying that much.

uVerse supposedly will be around $100 for a similar plan.

new customers to charter will be $89/mo for the similar plan.

charter customer retention sucks donkey balls, they essentially dare you to switch. if you cancel altogether, you have to wait 61 days to qualify for 'new customer' pricing.

I think I'm going to wait a month, and pretend to be a new customer and sign up online - I managed to get away with that once a couple of years ago, and not only got a year of promotional pricing, but also got a $150 best buy rebate card that showed up in the mail a month later
