Driving from Kansas City, Mo back here. Stuff to do?

I'm flying in to Kansas City, Mo and picking up my new car then driving back here. I am trying to make this a cool trip and see some stuff on the way home, just do not know what to do. I have about a day and a half to get back and it is about 800 miles or so depending on the route I take. I was thinking about taking route 66 but it does not seem that interesting anymore. Is it worth taking that? If not, what should I stop and do? I want to stop at St Louis and check out the arch but that is about my only solid idea rite now

The arch in stl is the only mildly entertaining that entire trip.

Eat BBQ in Kansas City. Too many famous places to list. Bring me some back.

Hit Oklahoma Joe's in KC. It is literally in a gas station, but the BBQ is about the best in KC from what the locals told me when I was there a few weeks ago. The ribs kicked ass.

If you are gonna stay in KC for the night, the light and power district downtown is really cool. It is where a lot of the bar's and restaurants are, and there is almost always a couple of decent bands playing live. I have made this drive a lot though, and normally I avoid STL because it is south some more and has traffic. I normally take 72 across to 55, there is NOTHING to see on this drive.

I live in STL now, from the Detroit Metro area. Really there are not a lot of sights to see. In St. Louis check out the Arch, City Museum (an interactive museum and jungle gym for adults, its alot of fun), Schlafly Tap Room is decent beer, Blues City Deli if you want a killer sandwich. I would then move on to Indianapolis.

Thanks guys, I'll be there in about 3 hours, driving to St Louis and staying the night there to check out the arch in the morning then heading straight home. This is my new car that I am picking up!!
