How people spend their money really doesn't mean two shits to me. $5 on a coffee, $50 on a lunch, $200 on a pair of blue jeans, $2000 for a dog, $5000 to fix a dog, $10000 on a gun, $50000 on a Jeep, $100000 on a boat, $1000000 on a house...whatever I really don't fucking care. As long as you can afford it and it doesn't involve you having an impact on my life or my tax dollars to do so, all the power to ya.

Neither would I! These guys are my "kids". I don't want children, I have had a taste of raising a child and I don't want that responsibility, and neither does my girlfriend. The way you explained it is exactly how I explain it and people never believe it.

What really annoys me is the DB that started this thread that supposedly blows all this money on guns and inadament objects has an issue with someone spending money on a creature that is just as much of a family member then anything else.

I personally won't blow that wad of cash on a dog, but I get it if you do

The purpose of this thread was to annoy you, duh. Beside, I don't blow all of my money on guns and inanimate objects. I invest a good portion of it wisely in a ira and a 401K. If I had some Adament objects i would find a Dwarven Smith, my magical item crafting skills are not high enough to work that kind of material. In 10 years when my purchases and investments are allowing me to have bigger and better toys and your dogs are dead i will lol.

Do what ever you can aford.
do not beg others to help you if you have blatently been foolish with your money.
do not impose your values on others who are not willing.

Spend no more on an animal than you have donated to the betterment of society, such as feeding starving children, in my opinion if you spend thousands on an animal, you are lacking something, mentaly or socially.

No question I would spend that kind of money on my dog. The sad thing is that a lot of vets (not all of them) are in it for the money. It is so easy for them to charge what they want. Because they know they can play off peoples emotions, and people will pay those prices if it means saving their pet. (not saying they don't care about their animal patients, just easier to charge more for animals then humans)

My vet thankfully isn't one of these vets. He spends half his time volunteering at the humane society and half at his office, and is there for the animals. Our last bill at his office compared to our old vets was almost half, for the same thing.

My opinion is that why do people spend money and time on there little douche bag children that aren't thankful that their parents spent a lot of money on them cause they did something stupid and got hurt. I say take them in and put them down, not the family pet.

I'm sure the dogs quality of life was just fine. Dogs simple happy disposition is likely why.
All dogs are happy because they are stupid. No matter how they feel their attention is easily diverted by cheese, carrots, mandarin oranges, or the offer of a car ride.........even if they are missing a leg.

I agree with this and have to add that if the dog had gotten better, like my lab did, you would never be able to make such a horrible comment.
