Who is your local welding supply place?

I have my ultimate air tank filled at Lake Welding in Muskegon and the Holland store said they could do it but they would have to send it out (to Muskegon there filling station).

That's a bummer. Here in Flint we have 2 different welding shops that will fill while you wait.

You should be able to go to any welding shop, beverage or beer outlet center, or ask one of the local fire dept. guys where they get their CO2 fire extinguishers filled.

I use Approved Fire Protection Company in Kalamazoo. They will fill on the spot. $20 for my 20 lb tank. They also do same day hydro testing. Check fire places or scuba places as well.

I think the issue you might be having it due to having a used tank that you most likely got from CL and cannot prove ownership. I have the same problem with an Argon tank that I bought off of craigslist a couple years back, Lake Welding in Holland will not fill it until I can prove that I indeed own the tank. They told me that it would have to be a printed receipt from a business that sells welding equipment for them to allow me to fill with them. The advice they gave me was to have it exchanged for a full one at Trac. sup. and use the receipt from that transaction to validate the tank.

Ive never had an issue with having to validate ownership and ive had my tanks filled all over the state. Some swap, some fill....just be careful if you swap that it isnt a tank that hasnt been serviced. They have to go thru inspection every 5 yrs, both mine were WAY outta date. I only use Aegis now.......awesome customer service for sure

Not anymore at tractor supply. Few years ago I exchanged my argon tank with them. The first one I brought wasn't theirs. They exchanged it for a little extra $ and now it is theirs. About a yr ago I went in to do the same for the oxygen tank on my torch set-up and they would no longer exchange tanks that they didn't own. Ended up going to Purity in GR.
