I also bought car parts from a guy in Jackson a few times then took a buddy to buy a $1200 Trans from him. Upon greeting us I notice his pistol on his hip, didn't phase me. A he turned away myhe's buddy is all "dude he's got a gun". I asked him if he planned on coming back uninvited? He respond "no" and I said so it worked then didn't it? He had never had his gun any other time id been there (that I know of) but the message was clear and I just kinda laughed. I personally do the same thing when I have people over fora sale that I don't know.

So there is a place and time for everything, is up to you to make the right call. Personally I'm all for my right to choose what I do with my life.
Huh? The message was clear huh? What was his message? How do you know he wasn't planning on killig you? Have you ever talked to someone who has killed another? I have talked to several, most of them I'd be willing to bet you would think they were all right guys.

Default Hancho's motives

Hancho,
May I ask, why are you so (as it would appear) opposed to any gun ownership? This is one of our constitutional privileges. I say privilege because it is a "right" earned FOR us by our fellow brothers and sisters who put their lives in harms way. Both here and abroad. Remember one fact that both Great Britain and Austalia have proven. Out law guns and only outlaws will have guns. More times than not gun owners are some of the strictest gun safety and gun law advocates, because they understand it's a privilege to own and Bare arms and it is to be protected. And since we are in the United States of America even you and the anti-guns are entitled to an opinion.

My grandfather killed a large number of German soldiers in WWII. He was always good to me but my father and uncles didn't have a lot of positive things to say about him when they were growing up. I will say he was a merciless killer when he needed to be. He is probably the most emotionally hardened person I've ever met. He carried is actions well until he was on his death bed and then he confessed he was sorry he had to kill so many people. War is Hell.

I know what you were trying to say. In other words the nice individual you may be talking to could in fact be a cold hearted murderer. Sometimes you just can't tell.

I have about the same respect for people that throw the whole open carry thing out in the public's view as I do flamboyant gay pride parades, klan rallys, and guys driving around the anti-abortion vans.

Getting all in the public's face about your cause is not my idea of how to make progress on your agenda. But to each his own I suppose...

I'm guessing the first 4 pages of this are like the other bazillion OC threads that have come and gone on here, so I skipped them. Not here to argue the point because everyone thinks their position is the right one, just passing on my experiences.

The half dozen or so times in my life that I've seen OC'ers, each one left their weapon exposed to me as they carried their food tray, paid for goods or completed some other task. Without any doubt I could have taken the gun from any one of them, or if I carried a gun I could have dropped them before they ever touched theirs. If you think you're 100% cognizant of who's eyeing you or your gun up 100% of the time maybe you're also too delusional to even own a firearm.

This mindset against cops is one of the reasons why flamboyant OC supporters are looked down upon. I know lots of cops and had a number of interactions with cops I don't know over the years due to traffic stops, etc. Virtually all of them are decent people if you treat them with respect and acknowlege (for a brief time) that they are in charge (traffic stop or other inquiry) and you want to work WITH them regarding anything they may have concerns about. I have not received a ticket in almost 30 years because if I've been caught doing something stupid, I man up and admit what I was doing. THEN I SIT THERE AND KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT until the officer finishes the background check or whatever. Virtually every time, the officer tells me to slow down or whatever and then they cut me loose.

Cops are not bad people and if you treat them with respect, that will go a long way (even if you fucked up).

Actually yes, cops too. Despite their level II or III security holsters a lot of cops still get killed with their own weapons. Although I find it nothing to "LOL" about.

Yes, this is true and I respect your seriousness about the matter. There is training out there to prevent people from taking a cop's weapon. Unfortuanatly, some officers feel that the training they received in the academy is sufficiant to protect them. It's not.
