Default registering a waverunner with just a bill of sale? sos bullsh!t

I bought a package deal of two waverunners and am selling one of them.the previous owner filled out the title with my info.Must i go to sos and register it in my name and wait for the title to come to sell it? Or can me and the new buyer go to sos and have it all taken care of? or better yet can u still just sell it with a bill of sale, which i have done in the past but no my local sos office is giving me the runaround i think....any input is greatly appreciated.

u have to have it put in your name, otherwise its whats known as *title jumping* and is illegal. and if you have the title, why would you want to sell it with just the bill or sale?

If you're past 30 days from the sale date (iirc) you will have to pay more. Also if you bought it and didn't title it in your name then sell it to another individual it is called title jumping and is illegal.

Because rhino its the goberment. FIGHT THE POWA!!!!! Don't even give the guy a bill of sale. It helps cut down on stolen goods if everyone burns titles and we just trust what the seller says.

Can you get a quick title for it like with a car? I've never done it but I remember the SOS asking if I wanted a quick something title or regular one in the mail

Sell it.

Keep title.

Report it stolen.

Retrieve from impound.

Repeat as necessary to profits!

very simple to solve. i'll find the form on the SOS site for you

EDIT... here's the form, print it out. all you need to say is you have no interest in this vehicle
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/tr-34_16194_7.pdf

i've used this form a few time's and never had any problem's.
