Default Because its the cool thing to do....

Here is my "greasemonkey thread"

I had to figure out how to fit the baby seat in my xj with a booster seat too. The problem was that the baby seat had to go in the middle or it would hit the front seats and wouldn't latch into the base. Doing so made it impossible for our 6 year old to buckle his seat belt and the wife and I both had problems getting him buckled. We both came to the conclusion that it was time to look around for a larger vehicle. We looked at grand cherokees but my wife wasn't fond of the size still. Then I saw a dodge magnum for sale locally at a used car lot that had just opened. What made it a better deal was I know the mechanic and had a chat with him about the car. I asked him to go through the car and find everything wrong for me so I know what I would be dealing with. He found bad sway bar bushing, end links, and broken rear wiper arm. They payed off my cherokee for 2k above blue book and fixed all of the problems. They ended up getting me a good interest rate of 3.9% and I was out the door with my keys.

Cliff notes:

I bought an '05 Dodge Magnum SXT 3.5L RWD 4spd auto with 86k miles and Brand new good year wranglers on it.

What an odd coincidence. I had the same issue with my '04 WJ a year or so ago. So I bought a Ram Mega Cab. I loved it but it loved gas more than it loved me. I sold it and bought an '07 RWD Magnum R/T a month or so ago.

They are quite roomy inside. My wife HATES cars and will never own another. She said that she liked it because it seems so big.

They are quite roomy, and they ride and handle really nice too. I have a bump steer correction kit on order from Pedders Suspension to help keep it going down the road straight and save my tires from premature wear.

Nice.

I really liked the last year of production (brain fart, don't know exact year) they really cleaned up the front end styling.

But yeah- they are one of those cars that look right with 20's.

Fukkin love google- 2008 magnum.

A freind had one, pretty quick car. The front end needed to be rebuilt twice before 100,000 miles,he says it's a common problem with them, and It's a great car.I say it's a tire wrecking unsafe pos.
I dont understand why people think they are a good car when they cant even make 100,000 miles. And to the mopar guys who will claim lots of miles with know front end problems,I think you are lying,or you have a bunch of woreout parts that you are not aware of.
Not trying to dog your new ride,I am just amazed my mopars, and the people who buy them.

My wife has a 2008 SXT .We bought it last year. She loves the car, but as bdd1469 said, they do have weak front suspension components. The brake rotors tend to warp also. Check out http://www.custommagnums.com/.
Both outer TRE's where completly shot when we bought it with 80k miles. I just tracked down an annoying clunk that turned out to be the tension strut "control arm". The joint on this was completly toast as well. We have gotten 26mpg a couple times. She tends to stay around 23mpg. Nice roomy cars, with baby two on the way it is the perfect ride!

I am amazed by people that think every component of a car has to last 100,000 miles or it's a complete piece of shit, regardless of the manufacturer. Do tell us oh wise and perfect bdd1469, what brand of vehicle do you own that is so perfect that every component is so well built that it is like new at 100K?

Didn't your parents teach you that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all? Clearly the guy likes his new car. Yet, you felt so inclined to come into his thread to voice your opinion and shit all over what he is clearly happy with.

Not to dog on you, but I am amazed at people that can't fucking spell, use proper grammar and keep their shitty ass opinions to themselves.

Run on sentences annoy me as well! Grammar calls for a comma after the word "grammar" in this instance. Practice/Preach.
