Default can i bolt a 727 tran.s to a 241 t-case ?

i have a 96 dodge that i keep killing tran.s in . i want to convert the truck to a 727 tran.s but keep the drivers side drop is this possible ?

driver side drop as in the front drive shaft?? The trans has nothing to do with that, its how the transfer case is set up. What trans do you currently have? Is it stock? Are you putting out more power? Are you building it yourself?

727's had front drive shaft clearance issues with the bell housing and pan.
3" to 4" lift will fix it, with the correct bumpstops. 2 piece drive shaft would fix it.
most are 23 spline output, with a 6 bolt pattern like d300's and np208/231.
a stock np 208 mated to a 727 is a fairly common set up. has fixed yokes on both ends.
fairly stout, not super long. should be an easy cheap jy score.

I offset my engine about 3" on my YJ to clear the pan on the 727. Does not help that my front drive shaft is so big. Still will rub the shift cable bracket at full flex.
