AccuWeather.com Long Range Expert Joe Bastardi believes there is a significant chance for particularly frigid winters in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 into 2014-2015.
Bastardi said these winters could be similar to winters of the late 1970s.

Last winter blew ass except for in the PNW, which got blasted. Hoping for an insane one again here and in the Rockies this year. Winter of 2009 would be more than acceptable. Got opening weekend cat skiing in Fernie BC lined up for December, then CO a month later.

the last 4 years they claimed were supposed to be hard winters and they failed. I sold my sled and said Im done with that in Michigan, so it would make sense that we will ge a good winter this upcoming year.

Winter of 2009 was awesome. I lived in the UP for 5 years(02-07) then shortly after moving back downstate we got a winter that wasn't too far off from up there. Add in the fact that I was driving a sporty Subaru on Blizzaks and I've never had so much damn fun in the snow.

I was up to my waist in pow in the woods where I hike to ski. That winter was awesome, it never stopped snowing.

Dave, you should get a pool and then you won't have to wait around for winter.
Plus you could have me over for drinks and swimming
