Default Dana 30 gear install question

Hey guys
Doing a dana 30 gear install on my 94 zj. It takes the cj gears. I found a set of used spicer gears online for sale. Picked up a master install kit and starting to do the swap. However i can not get the crush sleeve on the pinion. I searched the part number and everything looks right. The new crush sleeve looks just like the old on the old pinion but nothing fits the new.

Been searching online a bit and it looks like i have to convert my dana 30 from a crush sleeve pinion preload to a shim style preload. Can anyone confirm this? If so how do i do it?
Thanks

Pretty sure yes, just use the cj shims but you need a different outer pinion bearing
