First off, I like to be as honest as possible. I'm not here to try and scam anyone and I'll answer any questions you still have.
The car has a clean title, never wrecked, and has a clean carfax history. Car has ~122k miles, but it is my daily driver so it goes up. I am the 4th owner, which is quite low overall considering how often these cars are known to change hands. I was told that the timing belt was done within the last 30k miles, but he could not find the paperwork. The clutch grabs great and doesn't slip at all. Will hold at WOT in 5th gear on the highway without a problem.
Great working A/C
Viper inspired seat option
Pioneer headunit with iPod controls
HKS SSQV BOV
Big FMIC (Have stock one as well)
Aluminum shifter bushing
AEM Short ram intake
Brand new K&N filter installed last week
Autometer Cobalt boost gauge (stock gauge often goes bad or reads inaccurately)
Real APR front splitter
Great compression, engine is very healthy
Tires have good tread
As far as cosmetic flaws:
The car had some rust repair work done on both rear quarter panels. Unfortunately the rear passenger side is starting to very lightly bubble, but it is not through at all. The driver rear is still rust free, but they didn't do a great job on the repair. You don't notice it too much though until you are right on it, from about 10 feet away you can't tell. The hood is showing its age under the front edge. The hood looks great from the exterior, but you can see some rust forming at the leading edge of the hood underneath with the hood up. It has been a Michigan car it's whole life, so sadly there's no escaping it.
It does have some mechanical things that could stand to be addressed, but the car is also perfectly drivable the way it sits. I daily drive this car to work everyday without a hiccup.
- Has a boost leak. The cause is from a broken bolt on the bov flange. I have a c-clamp on it right now as a band-aid, but it does still leak. To repair this properly the turbo would have to come off to have the bolts removed and re-tap the holes. It isn't too bad of a job. I just don't have the time. I have the BOV block off plate for it. I have already ordered the new gaskets/washers for re-installation of the turbo from Modern Performance.
- Occasionally has the third gear issue these are known for. Downshifting into third does not always work smoothly, but up-shifting is usually flawless, but once in awhile it will fight you. The transmission was rebuilt back in '07 (I think, have paperwork) but it's showing it's age again. I have a brand new DCR third gear shift extender, but have not had time to install it. This part is known to fix the third gear issue in most cases.
- Has a small oil leak, maybe a couple 50 cent size spots overnight. I replaced the valve cover gasket, but it still leaked. I haven't had a chance to look farther into it.
- IAT sensor is bad. The car drives fine, just has a CEL. I have also ordered a new AGP IAT sensor from Modern Performance.
Extras if you decide to purchase everything:
Modern Performance top end rebuild kit with Crower Stage 3 cams, comes with everything to really breathe some new life into the engine. The kit is brand new and only opened for photos/inspection. (Link to kit https://www.modernperformance.com/pr...e_rebuild_kits )
DCR 3rd gear shift extender
BOV block off plate
Turbo oil and coolant washers/gaskets
There may be some other things that I can't think of right now.
I have fixed and replaced various parts and corrected concerns from the previous owner as I am very meticulous about my cars. I may fix these other things if time allows, but if I do so I will be much more firm on price.
Those are the major pros/cons that I can currently think of, but like I said, I am not out to hide anything so please don't hesitate if you have any more questions. And I'm only selling because I just don't have the time to put into it right now and would rather move on, plus it helps to give someone a good deal if they don't mind a little wrenching.
Car alone - $5,800 obo
Car + all extras $6,500 obo
May consider trades for another good daily driver or a nice capable rig, ideally with trailer (figure it's a long shot).
My number is 2four8-2nine2-nine12nine if you'd like to call or text.
Thanks for looking!
