Used low mileage I cannot find.

I figure a reman with warranty will help with resale too.

A rebuild kit isnt too terribly expensive for that engine. I have an 04' as well with the 4.7 and am sorta in the same boat... http://www.airram.com/product.php?ca...productid=1535

I bought mine with only 125 psi compression on cylinder 1 (vs. about 150 psi on the others) Bore scoped it and the cylinder wall is pretty scored.

The 4.7 can have a tendency to sludge and can lead to clogged lifters (inducing valvetrain noise!!!) They are atleast decent on fuel.

I am currenty swapping the NV144 single speed transfer case out for a BorgWarner 44-45 transfer case (2wd, 4Hi-lock, 4Lo). The front output bearing is blown out on the NV144. The 44-45 is the Part-time trasnfer case available on 2011+ Rams similar to a NV244 but with no "full time 4wd"

Anyways back to your predicament.. either rebuild the one you have, swap a used, or go hemi. Just depends on price... the hemi swap is not bad in reality. The cam and crank sensors are same pattern, so realistically you need a predator tune along with a manual cable hemi throttle body (its even designed to use the 4.7 IAC).

Mine just misses at idle a little but 10w40 with rislone "stop smoke" seems to help a lot.... you on the other hand have a broked-engine. Used hemis arent going for much more than used 4.7s on craigslist (and are seemlingly more available). But a rebuild is still cheaper...
