Thumbs up Where to stay in CLARKSTON when there for a concert at the DTE

Where would a guy get a decent room close to the DTE in July when coming down for a concert? I know not to stay at the Holiday Inn of Midland and not to eat at Big E's Sports Grill, but I really need to know where in Clarkston would be good to stay...

Thanks in advance....

Kelly??? You got room for me and my Wife??

Little bit south of Clarkson is Auburn hills, exit 84 I think. 2 new hotels.. Don't remember the names... But, I think Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn.

There is no place to stay in clarkston.

There is a new holiday inn express (closest hotel) at Great Lakes Crossing mall. It's on Baldwin road in auburn hills. It's one exit south of Sashabaw, where Pine Knob is. Four minutes from Pine Knob. There is also a new Spring Hills Suites at Brown Road / Lapeer that is about .5 miles from the palace of auburn hills. A seven minute drive to Pine Knob.

I would not recommend staying at any hotel on university drive in auburn hills. I've never been in any hotel around here, I can only make my assumptions on the vehicles I see parked around them.

And I just checked, I have room for your wife to stay at my house

I drive past DTE every day on my way to work. Where exactly do they have concerts? All I ever see are a bunch of those big bucket trucks sitting around.

you posted the 3 dumpiest motels on dixie.

there is a holiday inn express on M-59 at the corner of Pontiac lake rd in waterford. it's about a 10-15 min drive to pine knob if you go early to beat the traffic.

Actually, the Clarkston Motel Motor Inn has been all redone and the rooms are very nice. We had some out of town relatives stay there and I was surprised at how nice it is. Plus, walk out the back door onto a deck overlooking the water.

Bought the tickets awhile ago... Should be good, with the exception of Nickelback... Heard one song, heard them all....
