We used to camp just across the jonesville bridge from the parking lot, there was an area to the left that normally had a handfull of groups camping, last time I was down there the DNR had fenced off the river and I'm not even sure you can camp there anymore.

I've ridden there several times but since I'm only 2 hours or less from it I always did day trips.

It is state land so you might want to see what the regs are for camping on state land in general. I too have seen people with campers set up right off the parking lot but that was a couple of years back.

Stop be a DNR field office and pick up a camping permit for state land, they are free but required. Plenty of camping in the Leota trail area.
