Planning on paddling around Wolverine Lake after breakfast Sun AM. Currently have a cheap 12', an Old Town Predator & a 17' Folbot Sea Kayak. The 12 footer is too small for me, going to off it & get an Old Town fishing kayak.

At this point I'm thinking maybe an ark instead of a kayak.

Oh man it's been pouring like crazy here! I have a borrowed kayak I plan on using again (although it's pink ) until I can find one for myself. Love being up by Commerce/Milford area, lots of kayaking around here.

x-riders kayak shop in Jackson has a nice selection of mid to high end boats and they can not be beat on new boat prices. Heck, they even took in an older boat on trade when I got my 14.5 WS Tsunami.

I think they have demos, but not sure of when or where. Also, no website, but they owner and his wife are good people.

That's where I bought my Dagger Axis 2 years ago. But, last year I couldn't find a listing on google. Are they out of business?
And they did have the best prices, even with the expense of trip to get it.
I'm hoping to go Saturday if even on a lake. We have had a lot of ran, just north in T.C. Snow. Snow mix is forecasted for Thursday and Friday. Saturday is looking partly sunny.

Padilen, The reason I ask is that's where I've been getting my kayaks too. I tried to call them yesterday and the number had a recording saying it was disconnected. I really hope they just moved to a new location. Although I wasn't able to track one down. They were really great people to deal with, and very nice too.

I can't remember if it was last summer or the previous summer.

Why, thinking they are out of business? There is a phone number on google. Not sure if its still active.

I remember that the owner and his family are from some place out east (CT / NH?). They head out there each winter and teach skiing.

I keep my boat up by Elk Rapids, I'm down for a paddle when summer hits and I'm up there more. I also have a SUP, if anyone wants to try it.

I bought 2 kayaks there last year, so if they are out of business it would have been some what recent.

No response
I just bought an Old Town Vapor at Dunhams online coupon $279.
Now for some kayaking weather!

I'm thinking we are just going to pick up a pair of the Old Town Trip 10 or Trip 12's from Dunhams. After the usual 30% off coupon they end up being right around $320 or so. At this point I just can't really justify spending more on one. Maybe if it ends up being something we really get into there will be reason to upgrade, but I'm thinking this is a good place to start.

Given the snow showers yesterday I don't think I plan on rushing out to buy them yet though.
