Default Sold - Narrow Track, Ford 9 inch

OKay, this one is rare, thought you Jeepers might be interested because your rims will already fit it.
This is a Ford 9 inch out of a Crown Vic, I'm guessing early 80's
It is set up with Disk Brakes. Its rusty on the outside, but it could be a good winter cleanup project.
This is a very strong rear-end, so if you are rolling on big tires, this will definetly be strong enough.
I have not pulled it apart to see what gears are inside, so don't ask, I don't know.

Wrong information above:

The right information: Ford 9 Inch out of a 77 Lincoln, with a little over 70K miles on it.

He wanted $800, but said he would only go as low as $650

The owner needs to make a couple sales, to help pay for his engine rebuild. He will negotiate, and he will be able to answer all of your questions about the rear end. I do not know that much about this unit. I will PM his name and phone number if you are interested.

I didn't know there was a 9.375

I do know that it is out of a Crown Vic, but I don't know what year.

If your interested, it would probably be best for you to look at it.

This doesn't look like a versailles rear, they have leafs (I am pretty sure). This could be a 9.375 an easy way to tell is the 9.375 always came with 31 apline axles, if it has 29 splines you know it is a 9".

I don't believe the 9.375" was used after 1972 (I don't care what the web says).

.... but it's "rare". :tonka:

Just for the record, Versailles rears were leaf spring, 28 spline, and 5 on 4.5".
I sold one not too long ago.

My nephew is the one selling it, I know very a little about it, and since you are second who has said that the price is way to much I will contact him, and see if he will drop the price.

I know it was done nicely, but the rule must be enforced equally.

Once again a case where quotes would add context to reduce confusion.

As for price, if he is considering changing it you may want to send him over to classicbroncos.com to get an idea of the market and current pricing. I know those are common axles for swaps for the EB guys.

He deleted my post. One of the rules is no price-bashing and I broke it. I have been :miff:

Okay,........I've talked to the owner, and drilled him with your questions.
It is out of a 77 Lincoln, not a crown vic. It also has just over 70,000 miles on it. It also is the true Ford 9 inch, not the 9.375. The lowest he will go is $650.
