And worth noting, the margin of "victory" was wider than it was fr the same two candidates in the general election, despite the national DNC machine dumping massive resources and millions of $ into this effort...

and yet the DNC was outspent by a margin of 25:1... predominately from out of state sources.

I don't care what was spent. The voters knew the issues and voted. End of story.

25-1 seems a little lopsided so I questioned the source

OK I stand corrected....the final ratio was actually 8:1. I remember reading about the 25:1 a couple months back but I don't recall where exactly as I read a bunch of stuff.....like Sarah Palin.

I've met you sir, and you're no Sarah Palin.

While she may be better-looking, she's never pulled me out of a mudhole before...

Not to shabby considering the polls in Madison had 110% of the registered voters casting votes.

You can't continue to pay for things with money you don't have. The problem with the public workers in this situation was the refusal to give an inch.

FWIW, 10 years ago when our company was struggling, every employee took a 10% pay cut. Guess, what, we didn't have a choice. Don't like it? Leave, there's the door. 2 years later when the company was stronger, people got their pay back with additional bonus's. We live in a world of supply and demand with only so much money to pay for it.

If you can’t pay for it then don’t expect the same level of service. There is only so much people can do before quality suffers. Anywho at the local level here the Guberment was asking for a pay decrease of “x” amount of dollars to save the budget. The “workers” offered other concessions that would have resulted in excess savings over the guberments proposed cuts. Guberment did not go for it, said it was a waste of their time and forced the cuts on the “workers” while demand more productivity, because politically it looked better on paper. Another example is when the State laid off all those State Troopers a couple of years ago. The Troopers union voted to take a pay cut rather than lose any positions. The State said no even though the voluntary paycut would have saved more money and laid of the Troopers instead. Things reported in the media are not close to what really happens behind closed doors.
