If I ever buy a new trailer it will not have 3500lb axles in it. I would go with bigger axles.

The 3500lb 5 lug axles on my old trailer did not like it when I moved up to 1-tons on my rig. My new trailer has 5200lb 6 lug axles and it works great.

Yeah, 3500 lb axles are just a tad small. If I remember correctly, any of the car trailers I was looking at that had 3500 lb axles. Most trailers at the lighter scale weighed around 2200 lbs. + a 4k-5k lbs Jeep... You are pushing the max of the axles.

I used to think USA trailers were a bargain until I re did the one my dad bought 8 yrs ago. wiring was all internally corroded butt connectors and scotch locks all over.. No paint under the deck. cheap axles= cheap brakes and bearings.. PLASTIC grommets where the wiring passes through steel. (plastic will chafe just like metal)
SO yea USA trailers are cheap but factor in a total rewire in a couple yrs and replacing the entire brake assemblys in a yr or two.

Well after a lot of negotiations I ended up with this. This is a JRC Customs trailer. The trailer has brakes on both axles, removable fenders, and is way too shiny

It is a 18ft bumper pull trailer. I believe he said the brand was Legacy. It comes with 2 3500lb axles BOTH have brakes. Powdercoat finish, ramps store in rear of trailer. 83" between fenders...The MSRP was around $2800. He is selling it to me for $2,400.
So is this a 20 foot, or did you get raped?

No the original trailer was a wood deck, no removable fenders, narrower and had a lip that meant I would need to use rollers. This one is a little wider, has rub rails, removable fenders, and steel deck with integrated d rings. MSRP on this trailer was $3,400.

Well I called all of the PJ dealers looking for a buggy hauler. They were all out of stock, except one had a 20' one and didn't want to work on price at all. Never could get a hold of anybody at USA trailer. So I ended up buying from Becks. There was a post stating that their OTD pricing is high and that is true. The original trailer I was looking at came out to just a tad under 3k out the door. This one was 3,200 but I really had to play hard ball to get there.
