That bike is sweet as is. I was just saying the other day how I would like to have a gl500 in touring mode. You should take it across the country before you tear it apart. ;)

It was cooler when you had to be 75+ years old to ride it.

That's funny, because I was thinking the same thing about Oz's mouth!
Bike looks good. Is that what you're taking to KOH next year?

I have an ultrasonic cleaner that is supposed to show up tomorrow. One of the many uses I have lined up for it is to clean these carbs. The bike has a low speed stumble that I'm sure is a fuel delivery problem.

then I notice this! Total bummer the air screw is broke off in the body. I hope I can get it out, if not I need to get a new carb. I'm not saying this is the issue, but it would defiantly cause the issue I'm having

What a pain in the ass it was getting that needle tip out of the carb. I tried with all my might and couldn't get it so I gave it to my good buddy Chip Wheeler and he ended up drilling the center of the needle tip out with a .020" drill bit to release the pressure and then he was able to put it out. These pics do not show how small this little bugger is...kind of amazing he was able to drill it
