Yep, when I was with the MC, Professor, Spiderman, Packman, Sawdwich boy, and a few others explored that area and we got to the double creek crossing. You know that spot? Then we went back the next year and the loggers had put an I-75 style logging road criss crossing the original trail. You have to look off to the side to find the original trails because they didn't put the new trail right on top of the old one. We found parts of it and even the double creek crossing. So unless they pushed it further north, the unknown section is just to the west side of Pancake Lake. We made it past the river. Subsequent years a few of us came in from 67 Rd and found the trail coming south but never connected the two.
I do remember that trail having a large number of deep rocky ravine (10-15 ft) crossings that made the whole trail pretty cool.

I may have been out there the same day... I know there where 2 groups out there the day we where on that trail. Our group pushed the trail all the way through. I have never tried finding the trail from the 67 road side. I do remember that there was a few good spots. It would be fun to explore the area again.

hahahaha pretty funny! So you were in the club, or probably a guest then? That was the second attempt at pushing through actually. The first time I was speaking of just one group came in from the south. It got real late and half the goup wanted to go back and the other half wanted to stay. That's when the Professor pulled his tent out of the truck and pitched it on the trail. I stayed in the truck over night. Not a comfortable situation. We tried to find the connector in daylight but gave up and went back to camp anyhow.
The second attempt is probably the time you were there. I went with Oldaker to the north off 67rd. I have the spot marked where I got to. Professor led another group coming up from the south. Don't remember who was in that group. That's when they found 'Rocking Chair'. Do you know that spot? Where did they push it through to? 38 rd? or around to the east side of Pancake where the beach trail is at and the west side Mine entrance road starts?

Yeah, I was probably in Professors group.. It has been a long time... Yes, we went in from the south at rocking chair. If I remember correctly, rocking chair is just on the south side of Pancake Lake and we pushed a trail west on the south side of the lake. I believe we then pushed a little north and ran into new logging roads over by the pancake river area.

This is all off of memory so I could be a little off

Moby Dick is calling my name too! Anything could happen. I think we have enough capable 'field repair' mechanics we shouldn't end up like the Trail 17 group did. We got close with Paul and his steering though.
Would you think we need a welder with us on the trail? I can toss mine in.

Yeah I actually gave my marked up map to the Professor that day. I think he still has it. He might not know it because I have his! However its lacking all my comments I made on getting to the west side of Pancake.
Pancake River comes out on the left side. That's where we left off. I'm wondering if you found the connector up and over the top and then back east. I don't think the west up to 67 has been pushed through but I could be wrong. That's what we were going to try and find.

Maybe not this year but we did say we were going to stop and see how 'possible' it would be to get all our motorhomes in there. That was a few years back. Remember when that guy at the gas station came and talked to us? Maybe put it on the list of things to do on our way home one of the two days.

Jim K can you shoot me the gps files you have for the trails you are thinking? I'm kinda curious about a couple different map programs for my phone and the Xoom and I'd like to see how each one looks and what not.

Sounds like you need to convince Indy to set up his on board welder on the Jimmycon.

I've got a Miller 125 and tanks in Moby Dick. I've also got a portable MIG that uses two vehicle batteries for trail use.
