We are a strong maybe at this point...

I have never gone to Canada for anything but getting drunk as a 19 year old and lately for work stuff.

Any issues or things that we should know bringing over the Jeep on a trailer? I figure by the time we hit the border its going to be after a 6 hour drive or so and I'd like to minimize any headaches.

I put on an event for UFWDA a few years back. I put together a list of things you might not know about Canada and stuff you should.
Ignore some of the event specific stuff but the rest shold be pretty applicable.
I also included a 'get out of town' map which might be helpful navigating the street from the bridge to Hwy 17.

Fuel: It's a tad expensive. Something like $0.80 a liter so 4 X .080 = $3.20 a gallon.
Oh how times change, eh?

Thanks for the info.

Can I get the GPS tracks?

I see the mention of dog food. I don't plan on taking our dogs, but if something would happen and we had to bring them what do we need to know about that? I've never taken them across the border and would really prefer not to if possible though...but just in case.

As far as trailers go do they weigh you, do you inspect anything, check more into your registrations, etc? Or is that stuff business as usual like around here?

Room reservation request sent...

I suppose, baring any unforeseen circumstances, that means we are in.

I take our animals across the border all the tome to go to the vet... Should be non-issue. Make sure jeep is clean before coming into Canada, and especially before you go back to the States. Your Dept. Of Agriculture are bastards about dirt travelling between countries. No guns, etc. unless you want to spend time in both customs... We are a peaceful pacifist country and don't believe in the use of weapons.... Lolol... Need the passport to get back into states....

Bring your own gas.... Beer etc... Gas is 1.35/ litre or 5.10/ US gallon. Beer is 36- 38/ case....

Any beer you don't drink can stay at my house when you leave. ;)

Uh oh, I just got a reply back saying they had no more rooms available. She suggested: McCully or Glenview Cottages. Input on which one I should be looking at?

Just talked to Diane at Blueberry. Apparently a group, (big) of loggers moved into her place in May and won't leave until November. I bet they also have the house. She has campsites left and they now have 58 seasonals and they are making more sites.

I would probably try Glenview as was recommended. Many people I know have stayed there. I'm not familiar with McCullys unless BigBird wants to give us the low down.
Someone got the trailer, who?

I'll go try to find my tracks unless WR would like to send them to you . I believe we both have the same set. It may take me a bit to find mine after I used them last.

I saw my fuel cost reference, WOW, just a few years too.

As far as going back and forth, not much different than normal, if you look shady, you're going to get looked at. I have only gotten stopped once going over and that was when I was travelling with an 80 year old couple in another motorhome from Cali-for-ia. Coming home is a different story, since getting Moby Dick those people like to X-ray my truck to see how much contraband I'm smuggling back. If the truck was human I bet it would have cancer by now. The caught me once though! A eagle eyed Border patrol office found a lone orange in the bottom drawer of my fridge and exited the motor home holding it up like he just found a kilo of cocaine!

I would stay at Glenview if given the choice. They are rig friendly... McCauleys is in Harmony beach, and I'm not so sure of that one...

Glenview has a website.... They have nice cabins for rent too. Come on Mikey, get off Kerry's wallet... Haha.

Glenview is a great place to stay either with an RV or renting the cabins. I've never stayed at McCauleys but I think they only have cabins, no RV sites.

I would have to dig up my tracks. I have everything loaded on my old laptop as my new laptop doesn't want to recognize my GPS. I haven't fired that computer up in several months now.

Jim,
What specific tracks are you looking for?

After a little deliberation it has been decided that we will be camping. Divorce may well follow this trip...

We go up normally twice a year, spring and fall run but sadly this is looking like the 1st time in years I'll miss the fall run.

We used to stay at the voyageur's wayyy back in the day, then moved to sunset shores and recently we have been staying at the Salzburger Hof. No complaints about any of them. However it's been years since voyageur's so don't quote me on that, no telling if things have changed.

If you guys are looking for a really good German dinner try the Salzburger Hof and tell Army (big guy who runs the place, yes that's his name) I said hi.

Sunset has pretty much gone to seasonal's. Voyager is nice. Never stayed at the Hof. This group is staying much further south though but I wouldn't be surprised to see a run up that way.

Oh and Mike,............ well, there's nothing much I can say about you.
