Default dana30 help

Pulled my d30 out of my 98 xj. Installing a d30 from an older xj that has vacuume disconnect. Can I just by pass and block off the disconnect?

What can I do to make this work?

What gears came in the d30 for a i6 5speed? Can I use the carrier from that for my 4.56 ring and pinion?

You need the one piece axle shaft and then to block off the CAD. If the gears on the carrier are 3.73 or higher numerically you can use it for 4.56s

yep, you'll need a long side inner and then one of these:

I know on my vacuum disconnect on my YJ, I slid the collar over, put a hose clamp on it, plugged the vacuum ports, and called it a day. Never have an issue with it.

Ran a one piece axle on passenger side on yj and only put a inner seal in the axle tube. Never had a problem and no seal kit.

I would use one piece shafts with the larger u-joint, much stronger. Check out jeep faqs there is a write up with all info needed and part #s for seals.

Ok thanks. I think I'm going to use my old axle pending inspection. If the pinion bearing opening isn't trashed ill fix the top of the case where the pinion gear hit. Little heat and a quick weld job I think ill be in business. Ordered new ring and pinion, all the u joints, brakes, bearings and what not. Should be good to go.
