I seems to help when I have the flywheel side of the TC straight up, and spin it.
I also rock it back and fourth while spinning it slowly, with it both pointed up and sideways.

Getting dizzy from spinning.........Friggin thing isnt going.

back up a few months........I had it installed(wrong) without the second drop.

NEVER , did I even try to turn the motor over with mechanical means..........when I did tried to turn it, by hand..... just to move the pistons a little, I realized that it was wrong and pulled the trans today.........

the keys on the pump look alright....... but no drop from the TC......

are you sure you have the right TC? What was the problem that made you pull the trans and TC? There is a difference in year TC for the tf999/32rh trans. Some have flat tabs ground on the snout and some have a keyway cut.

Did these parts fit together before, or are you replacing one or the other or both (not as a set).

Are you saying you had the bellhousing bolted flat to the back of the engine, even though the torque converter was not installed all the way? If so, you have bigger issues now. Never use the bolts to pull the trans to the engine, always make sure it slides all the way into place by hand.

support the snub/snout of the TC (that fits in the crank) with one hand and pull the snout up and push it toward the trans with one hand. Spin the TC with your other hand. It won't seat on the input shaft and pump unless the TC is being held up with one hand.

You fuggered up your front pump. You will have to replace trans or have somebody fix what you broke. In the future, make sure the converter is able to spin as you tighten up the trans. If the converter binds, you have problems.

Pulled the pump....surprised to find no damage. No Scoring on the inner faces of the pump either.

The situation with the converter not dropping............I had a lock up converter on a non lock up trans. Pretty sure that translates into ....I have a 904 and was attempting to put a 999 converter in.
904's have splines all the way to the tip of the smaller shaft while 999's have the tip of the smaller shaft turned down to fit the correct , lock up converter.
Both converters have square keys cut into the leading edge though.

So,going back in this weekend.
