Today was a good day. I finished cutting off all the front end frame suspension, grinding enerything smooth. I made up a template of what i want the front tube fenders to look like, they will go into the hood and have a storage space built into them. I also mocked up 1 of the speed blisters for the hood so i can run the coilover hoops up higher through the hood to keep the Jeep as low as i can and put the front 60 under it. It will most likely stay in that position once everything is welded. Also i put on 1 of the comp corners to get a look at it. Any one know what size lug nuts go on a front kingpin 60, the ones i got the the 14 bolt are too big.

Tomorrow ill clean up the axles, removing what ever i wont be needing. Then ill tack the brackets together, and put the 14 bolt in the back. Then if im feeling froggy enough ill cut off the lower frame control brackets and then cut off the back frame, about a foot after the lower frame brackets.

1/2" lug nuts.

Don't cut all of the inside of the driver side coil bucket off the 60 as it is support for the truss if you are keeping it.

Looking good though

well this shit is gettin serious!!! Just finished the first part of the rear frame chop off. Ill be honest theres something satisfing about cutting apart a perfectly good Jeep. I also roughed out the rear comp corners. Now i gotta finish cutting the rear frame so my BTF rear frame section will fit.

Full hydro i assume.

Unless you have a tube roller you will never get that contour from your tube fenders.

no, hydro assist. the axle needs to be pushed back like a foot or so. Im not set on that fender design, if i choose to go that route ill have a fab shop roll it like that.

havent updated in a while, so heres an update. last week the welder and air compressor were hooked up so work could continue. Ive welded together the new rear frame rails, just need to do a little body work before welding them onto the frame. Ive cleaned up both axles, just need to finalize placement of the brackets and burn them in. Front suspension is mocked up, but im thinking of moving it atleast 4" more forward, but need to mock up the steering before doing anything. I made up a practice gauge cluster, needs perfection but i like it. The real one will be made out of engine turned aluminum or carbon fiber.

Right now im waiting on a few parts; Art Carr shifter, hydro assist parts, and a Premier Welder god i love Pirate. Stil need to get a 1.75 tube die before i can start the tube work.

Tomorrow im gonna put the interior back together, see where i can put a lowrance baja 540c gps, a few more gauges, a radio, comm system, cb, and a cutting brake.

oh ya, i know dirty garage, surface rust, ugly mug:chiefwoohaw::chiefwoohaw::chiefwoohaw:
