why not just rebuild the one you have, the money you would pay for one could go into studdin the head and upgrading lots of internal parts......only reason I ask is because I have an 04.5

I have been thinking about it, I still have to pull the block out of the truck. Just figured i'd put this up here for a second option. The guy I got the truck from told me I should check the crank because of something someone told him.. idk, I got to disassemble and see how my internals look. Number 1 cylinder dropped a valve seat, the walls arent to bad, definately can be bored, but the piston is jacked. if I could beef it up and rebuil it cheaper than i'd be down for that.

Well IDK about cheaper, but better and more power definately! From what I have read and been told, these blocks are good to about 1000 hp, but the crank isn't, the stock crank and rods are good to 6 or 700, but 600 hp = about 1100 ft/lbs of torque! (guestimate and what guys I know are getting)

ohh yea, ive read some similar things to go along with what you are saying. 6-700 hp will be just fine with me.. that even if I get it to go that much..... Steveo... price kinda depends on what im looking to get, I know i can get a reman long block for 4000... but if we are talking a complete truck, or parts it all depends
