Default Starter relay question

I hear that you can like... put in a hidden switch to turn off and on the power coming from the starter relay or something like that. Just for added security. Anybody know anything about this? Done it? Let me know!

I dont know what kind of vehicle you want to install this on.

This is one of many ways you could do this.

All your talking about doing is installing a throw between the battery and relay. Basically if your relay is exposed in any way it can be "jumped" to start the car. I have done it numerous times driving pos over the years.

Your best (factory look) bet is to bury the relay under the dash and run the 12v lead to it then to the starter. With it inside it is more difficult to jump then someone simply tossing the hood up on your tj and starting it with a small piece of wire.

If your relay is on the starter then you can install a torx bolt on cover that will simply not let a wrench through.

Just install a master power switch under the dash somewhere and you will be good. That's enough of a PITA to look for that the thief will just leave you with a torn top.

People must be desperate if they're stealing 10 year old Jeeps.

Waste of time. 90% of the thieves that would try to steal it will not be fooled or even slowed down by that. There are countless options that are much better. Just put in a removable steering wheel, that would be slightly more effective.
