Default 4.7L for 2001 WJ Grand Cherokee

Looking for a good motor with known history for a 2001 WJ Grand Cherokee. The WJ that it is going into is still very nice, so looking for a fairly low mileage motor with know history.

Also looking for someone to do the motor swap.

How many miles were on yours before it went kaboom? I'm at 135k on my 4.7 and am starting to get nervous.

It didnt go kaboom, but it lost compression on #2 cylinder. Hopefully it is not catastrophic. I think it has aroun 180,000. It is my brothers vehicle, I am just trying to get the work done for him.

Thanks for the PMs. I will move on this in the next couple of days.

Probly dropped a valve seat out seems to be pretty common on the front cylinders. Most of the time we have the head repaired and put it back together as long as there is no hole in the piston.
