You pm me with what vehicles you are interested in , I can look it up officially for you.

A few months ago, my sister was able to buy an Equinox for about $1200 less than I could get her in one with my family discount.

City depend how traffic mostly 26-28 and highway 55-60 mph you be see 34-39 mpg with NO Cruise control or heat/ac or radio. Tires were at MAX pressure I think 40 psi something.

Short trip get HUGE HIT on mileage badly.

Aunt's 2010 Fusion 4 cylinders with about 50k miles. Trenton to Wixom and Saline. She say mileage is most time 29-32 at her prefer speed mostly like 80 mph. Winter it less like 26-27.

Only one thing I HATE how it shift. It want shift higher rpm than you prefer.

My aunt owns a 2010 Fusion. It's the 4 cylinder, auto, with some kind of sport appearance package on it (low profile tires, different wheels, not sure what else). I've taken it on a few trips and I drive it while my vehicle is broken because she never drives it. Now, it only has 22k miles on it, but it has not had any problems.

I do really like the way it drives though. With the low profile tires, it handles really well for the size of the car. She has gotten two flat tires though because those tires are so small. MPG is somewhat disappointing. She gets 21.5 in the city, but 32-33 on the freeway. It seems like in order to keep up with traffic in stop and go situations you have to bring the RPM's up to ~3k which doesn't help the fuel economy. It is very comfortable though, I love the way the interior is set up, and it's pretty fun to drive.

One thing i've noticed, and I don't know if it's normal with todays fancy automatics, but the transmission shifts unusually harsh sometimes. Enough to kick your head back a little bit.

I have noticed that the Ford's drop off quite a bit in the city on the mileage. Any sort of short city driving kills my mileage in my focus. It can be driven spiritedly but destroys the mileage, or it can be driven under 3k where there is very little power and get good mileage, it's like two completely different cars.

Speaking of your focus, how do you like it? I am debating buying one as a commuter vehicle since it looks like I will be driving farther to work.

They are both great cars.. you would probably be better off saveing some money or buying a new 2013 malibu... My dads demo gets 37 mpg city. And the car is not a hybrid. Its truly an amazing car. Both for 2007-2009 malibus and fushions are great. GM and Ford really started improving there cars and trucks then.

Same story with the fusion. I reset the average MPG before an 11 mile 100% city drive and never brought the engine above 2.5k rpms and pulled 29 MPG. But it took forever to get to speed.

Our parents and their parents had to walk to school up hill both ways. Apparently in this new world where everything has been made easier its possible to go to work downhill both ways. Duh....

Have any of you driven a 2013 malibu? Exactly so shut the fukc up. He drives it from clarkston to lapeer every day snd averages 34+mpg. Its the 4cylinder also. The car has no electrical assist at all. It shuts down everytime you stop the car. A lot like a golf cart. Fucking idiots.

Care to change your story again? First you say it gets 37 city and then you say he gets 34 driving Clarkston to Lapeer, which is not city and should get better mileage than a city rating. Clarkston to Lapeer should get very good mileage since there are virtually no lights and the speed limit keeps you from high revving.

stop-start ability does not yield 37 mpg city.

You are wrong the car DOES have electric motor assist.

Efficiency in motion
More than ever there’s a critical need for greater efficiency. And you can be confident the 2013 Malibu Eco optimizes every drop of fuel with its 2.4L Ecotec direct injection Variable Valve Timing, 4-cylinder engine. And, for the first time on a Chevrolet, eAssist technology. eAssist a state-of-the-art system that uses power stored in the advanced 115V lithium-ion battery along with a 14kW motor-generator to provide an electrical boost in various driving scenarios, which allows for increased fuel economy3.

Holy shit what did scooter do!? You are exactly right on those numbers. Come to find out I can get 6500 off a new Malibu. For that I could get new and have a 100k warranty and use the money from the sale of my Honda to make my payments for almost two years. The local sales dude was right too, I only get $250 off the price of a Cruze with my gm discount. I need to talk with Bones about some stuff so I can figure out the Ford deals. I think I would go for the Fusion.

Its a bit complicated. I write up my expenses using the federal guidelines which is at 55.5 cents a mile right now. I get MUCH more than that built into my commision which covers food, fuel, lodging, ect. I get a regular, taxed, income and another that is not taxed for expenses. If done correctly it works out great for me.
