Thanks Kenny
But I think I may go in another direction with the skit plate,I want to protect the transmission as well and I never could think of a good way to weld the one I have to the oil pan
The club had out chili run yesterday and one of the guys in the club has the warn skid which goes from the existing skid to the lca bolts and it got me thinking
I did some searching and I think I'm going to do something like the undercover fab skid

It bolts to the existing skit as well as the frame side of the motor mounts

Update on new motor
Cleaned up and painted the block and brackets
Still need to paint oil pan and install new gasket as well as remove, clean and paint valve cover
I'm hoping to be sealing parts and motors next week

Kyle it looks to be missing half the spark plugs from the pictures? If you are going to swap motors you should fix that. Just saying

Does double spark plugs give me double power?
I'd be up to 240 then

Yes, motor with 8 spark plugs usually make over 240 hp.

On the other side of the head, duh! Run it like the 4 bangers in the ranger, 2 plugs per cylinder, or like they do on aviation engines....

Curious as to why you didn't go with a 4.0. Your plans to just keep it light and make more power with the supercharger? What does the wrambler even tip the scales at...ya know? Seems like you could just pick that thing up by hand ha ha....must be awesome.

Main reason is I will have less then $50 in this whole motor after I sell my other one and a 4.0 would involve more work then just an afternoon engine swap
I've always been curious what it weighs but I've never actually weighed it, the axles can't help the weight
The toolbox adds a bunch of weight too...plus the winch
I bet it's not as light as we think

If I remember correct a 4.0 is very close to a SBC for weight . And I imagine the 4cyl is a fair bit less.

Default Project "YJ-8 Wrambler"

The 2.5 is 350 pounds I think
Plus I would need to move the mounts on the frame for a 4.0 and new trans and wiring bla bla bla
I rather spend the same amount of money to just supercharge this motor and be unique
