Default Tranny question

Will a tranny for a small block 350 bolt up to a 2.8L GM motor?

No, they have a different bellhousing pattern.

You can swap in a Chevy 2.8, 3.1, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.8(from a camaro), 3.9, 4.6 northstar, etc.

This is a horribly vague question..

What motor do you want to use?
what type of transmission are you looking for (i.e auto, manual 4 speed, 5 speed, etc)?
what vehicle are you putting it into?
what transfer case do you want to use?

Torque Flite 904 is a 3spd Chrysler from the searches I did. Also looks like she has a cherokee, now I am not sure if its a FSJ or an XJ or whatever. I assume XJ because of the curb weight vs HP from the 2.8 would be a joke if in an FSJ.

You overthought the question (and missed basic information in the original post).

She wants to know which transmissions will bolt up to her 2.8L because the trans that is in it now is junk.

correct... and why not rebuild the one that is in there. Have the trans pulled and I will rebuild it for you.

Do your self a favor and get a trans and T-case from a 2.8 powered S-10. The 904 for 2.8's is expensive (price the torque converter, it'll scare you). The S-10 2.8 700R4 will give you over drive and be cheaper to upgrade.
