runner up - simply due to the amount of body rot - the '92 YJ, first and only long term vehicle I have owned that I literally put my foot through the floor on. had so much rot, that the rear hard brake lines had to be completely replaced after a minor accident. it also blew up the rear main around 90k miles on the 2.5L

3rd place - the '94 integra gs-r - chiefly because the B18C was so rare, and hard to get parts/replacement/used motors for when it puked the #3 main bearing at 92k miles.

that post was edited at least 4x to poke fun at my own typo, that was pointed out by Chad like a month ago (ok only 5 days ago)

for anyone that somehow might lose sleep over it, the very expensive piece of scrap metal on wheels was a 2002.

2001 WS6 Trans Am. I ordered the car from Rinke Pontiac GMC in the fall of 2000. All I can say is the car must have been built on a Friday before a holiday weekend, because every time I turned the key something went wrong. I lemon lawed the car and GM took it back in 2003 with only 1800 miles on it. (I had a stack of service receipts 1" thick!)

99 Old Alero.
Got it used form a deal for $4500. Never had an issue with it till the Lower Intake Manifold gasket started going out. After that happend it went threw 4 sets of wheel bearings, a CV shaft, 2 sets of Front rotors, 1 set of rears, 4 sets of front pads, a 2nd LIM gasket and some other small things as well.

LOL.... All GM cars from that era had intake manifold gasket issues.

that sounds about right.

lower intake gasket around 120k when it needs brakes, someone did the brakes but didn't lube the caliper slides, slides stuck and it tore through rotors and pads like it was its job. when the intake gasket was done whoever did it probably didn't use the upgrade fel-pro gaskets.
