CJ fuel filler neck hose size

does anyone know the size of the hose (I.D.) on a CJ gas tank/filler neck? I'm guessing 1-7/8 but I don't know and my Jeep is in Alpena.

Hopefully someone has theirs disassembled and can look?????

Check on ebay. They have a bunch for sale there (like $9 each new and you need 2 obviously). they should also have the specs.

Will a regular CJ hose work for a scrambler? I e-mailed one of the sellers and she said it wouldn't but i definitely don't trust her knowledge. I also need new ones for mine cause i cut them to get the tank off. they were rotted on.

out.

I'm going to run my own hose, just need to know what size to buy. I guess I can look at your Jeep this weekend.

There's I believe 3 different sizes, depends on the year of your filler neck..

1970-1975 CJ-5 is 2-5/8" OD
1976 - CJ 5 & 7 is unique, dunno the size..
1978-1986 CJ 5 & 7 is 1-3/8" Don't know if thats ID or OD...
1978-1986 CJ 5 & 7 vent hose is 1-1/8" OD

Scramblers are unique hoses, but I imagine the filler neck diameter is the same.

That info from Quadratec...

thanks Jesus , I would bet the 1-3/8 is ID since it seems pretty small. My tank is in my bed and the filler neck is moved to the front/side of the bed so a stock bent hose wouldn't do me any good anyways.
