Default Custom Leaf Spring Shop

I am looking for companys that build custom order leaf springs. I am interested in any recommendations along with personal reviews. A Michigan based company would also be a bonus as shipping is going to be expensive.

So far I have been recommended Alcan Spring by some members on Zr2usa and while I value their opinion I would still like to see what my options are. Currently Alcan wants $252 a piece for a 52" custom spring. Being the first and only place that I have contacted, I am unsure if this is a fair price or not.

Any Input would be greatly appreciated,

Don't know if John R Spring is still around but they used to do custom stuff. Also, try Bostick Truck on Baldwin.

Deaver does really good springs, they will do custom stuff to you just need to call. specialize in desert stuff, but i had a set of their rear springs on a cherokee of mine and i had nothing to complain about. They ride and flex better than any other spring I've ever had. http://www.deaverspring.com

A guy at CarQuest in Flint suggested Beattie Spring. From a quick Google search, they are in Flint. I have no experience with them. The number is 810-239-9151.

A B spring rebuilt the springs on my sonoma, can't go wrong with them. I've had them do a lot of work on differnt trucks, top notch all around.

Ok I just got off the phone with A B spring and they want 170 for a custom spring and 180 for a custom spring with a military wrap. I'm assuming that I want the military rap just for extra piece of mind. Unless there are any foreseeable drawbacks to it.

I would but the area of the wrap is not usually where a leaf spring breaks.

Deaver is usually too expensive. you're crazy not to to with Alcan unless other companies can back the same customer service and warranty. Alcan is a top notch company and customer service is some of the best I've experienced.

I've had 3 sets of theirs so far and each one was dead on for what I wanted/needed.

absolutely do a military wrap.

been there, done that

can't speak for the shops in your area, but I've dealt with "local" custom leaf spring shops and most of them truly have no idea what they are doing when it comes to offroad performance and what specs are needed.
