Default Would you ride it home?

Looking at a couple bikes that are 2-3hrs from home. With the cost of gas and the logistics of getting a bike home I'm tempted to drive my Honda Fit there and just ride the bike home.

Trying to decide between a '07 or '08 Suzuki Bandit 1250 both very road worth, no issues there. Bandits are completely new to me and would be the most powerful bike I've ever ridden. I'd only consider it if the weather was going to be perfect or close to it and during daylight hours. I've got years of dirt bike/quad/snowmobile experience but only about 8mo of street bike experience (Ninja 500).

Pretty confident in my abilities but I'm a worry wart and figured I'd see what peoples thoughts were on riding it home.

Are you trading the Honda fit for the bike? Seems like a good trade to me. :)

LOL. nope, that's my wifes car. wife and i would ride down in the Fit, she'd drive car back and i'd drive the bike. trying to avoid driving my powerstroke or JK. would hate to spend the money on fuel if i dont end up wanting the bike.

If you were leaving the Fit, it would be worth doing. But since you're bringing the car back, then it's not worth it.

I would think it would be a perfect time to get to know your new bike....if you brought it of chorse. I hate riding in rain, so I would be trying to plan ahead on the weather.

that's the other issue i forgot to mention that i've never ridden for that long of time. but that's what this bike is setup for and what i intend to do with it this year. i'd have enough daylight to to make a couple stops along the way if need be

i'm always up for an adventure

In all seriousness - only if the tires are newer and not rotting / weather checking.

That's what I was going to say. Don't mess with rock hard old tires even if they aren't weather checked. If it needs new tires, truck it.
