Talking I had so much fun building these shelves! I'm rather proud of my work!

So.....relying on you guys, rip my build apart.

2x2's, deck screws, 3/8" chip board, and a handful of custom brackets.

Go!

A lot of empty space. Was this a dry run for another project?

Looks good from here.

Are you doubting this runner up balsa wood bridge builder?!

I don't like rectangles. Squares and more pleasing.
Shelving is supported from the ceiling and the wall. Plenty of strength.
My only real concern is the 2x2's splitting......

I'm not too far behind, finally got all my drywall hung last night and started the mudding and taping....I really should dedicate more time to projects and less time to riding bikes with my kid....no wait, maybe I have it right.

2x2 will not split if you pre-drill screw holes first and use construction glue.

I think it looks good but it's hard to tell for sure from the pictures and brief description. Let me send you my address so you can come build those in my garage so I can more accurately judge your work.

You have it right. Just make sure the kid helps you with the mudding too.

You got it right. Those projects will be around forever, your kid will only be a kid for a short while.
