Default Motormax of grand rapids. (grandville).

Found a particular truck I'm interested in, but the website makes the company look like it's a little scammy rent-a-center type place that caters to people with credit scores in the 400's

is my assumption right? If so, I won't bother driving out there.

I'd steer clear, but it depends on how well I knew the particular vehicle you're wanting. i.e. all the "trouble spots" to assess if it is a decent vehicle or not.

A truck is a truck.... if you are getting your own financing I'd at least give it a look...

I wouldn't consider going through them for the $$$ side of things though. Interest is probably 15% or higher....

Kinda what I was thinking. If you know enough about the vehicles and the price is good to you, as long as you are handling your own financing, why not get it?

Why isn't it sitting on a legitimate, certified dealer lot? Could it not pass their inspection? Was the mileage too high? Was it too old? Did some other sucker buy a POS from them and trade this in on it?

We bought Kerry's truck from one of those buy here pay here lots. It seems like generally they are just higher mileage vehicles, but who knows...

Not the place I was thinking of when I looked it up on google streetview. This place used to be an ATV/water craft place 5-10 years ago if I remember right. Their online reviews make them sound pretty douchey.

I recently bought a car from this dump. The car had a service light during the test drive, to check suspension. We asked about it and the sales rep told use it will be fixed by the time we picked it up. We double checked that it wouldn't be a problem because we were interested in other cars as well. They said they will fix it no problem. Here's the scam: They set the date to fix it AFTER we buy it and wrote on the contract they will repair the service lights. We bring it it to get the suspension fixed and they said they don't know whats wrong with the suspension and that to get the lights to turn off they will re-install running boards. They found running boards out of a junk pile just to get the light to turn off. The car is sitting on it's tires and with a smirk they said, well the contract said we will fix the light. I've dealt with shady used cars in the past but these crack heads ... The car had a service light during the test drive, to check suspension. I've dealt with shady used cars in the past but these crack heads actually take pleasure in this. I would recommend to avoid this place at all cost. I also worked with JD Byrider near by and the service was great and the car was under warranty for a year. You may get lucky and pick out a good car if you do go to Motor Max, but if it is not be ready for a wild ride.

No, I was not going to use them for financing, but I found it odd that they had a particular vehicle I was looking for because historically, shady shit peddler dealerships that pray on people with bad credit do not have nice cars, and do not represent their inventory appropriately.

If your interested, I can look at this truck, even put it on my hoist and look it over. I work right down the street. They occasionally bring us alignments.

CC, what vehicle are you looking at there? Just curious to see if it's worth getting from this place. Lotta car lots like that, in my experience, are crack houses. I've had a few friends get cars from em because they make it sound so easy to buy a car from them. Then they get it and it's a lemon!

I'm looking for a king ranch with the 6.0. Super cab, and I would like the rear bucket seats.

That is the color I want, and I can only find two for sale within 500 miles. However, the rawhide leather in those trucks look really bad in photos, but the interior looks extra bad in the photos on that site.

That is a fapalicious truck...

I think the 05's were still on the tail end of 6.0 issues though weren't they? Maybe that's why this one is on a lot like this? I guess being an 8 year old vehicle might be another reason too.

If it's what you want and there aren't many around I'd go take a look at it. Didn't you drive to Jackson like 10 times to fight a speeding ticket? Whats a trip to GR?

I've been looking for a supercab king ranch for over a month. The ones that are listed for sale are private sellers with 200k+ and a fifth wheel hitch, or the ones at shady dealerships tend to have the whole underneath sprayed with bed liner and extremely destroyed interiors.

It's rare I locate one at a reputable dealership.

Not a Ford guy, but I LOVE the King Ranches. That is a beautiful truck. Just needs to be a long box! That and a 7.3l but that won't happen
