Default Problem With My MTRs... My poor truck :(

Coming home from school the other night my wrangler MTR's tread decided to separate from the tire.

Scared the sh1t out of me and caused quite a bit of damage

Insurance estimated the tires to be at about 80% too and there was no dry rot or physical signs of defect

Anyone ever see this before?

btw thumbs up to progressive. I couldn't be happier with them so far. Got an adjuster out extremely quick and got me into a rental car the next morning at no charge

holy crap!!! how old where those tires? I run the same tires on my YJ, but guessing since it is lighter would be less prone to this... I hope!

From the looks of that tire it's more like 15% tread left before it let go.

The good news is you can probably sell that tire on here for like $200.

You've got much better eyes than I if you can see that.

Curious as to what year the tires were actually mfg'd? Just because you just bought them new from a tire shop (no idea if that's what happened) doesn't mean they are actually as "new" as they seem..

I've heard of some bad shit happening from old tires.
