I'm going to need some gearing to me moving. Maybe even some sort of electric motor assist. Then after that the inertia will take care of me.

I don't know his exact injury, what I do know is I have fractures in vertebrae, misalignment, screwed up si joint, etc. Stretching, exercise, and keeping my weight in check has all alleviated a lot of back pain for myself. You're only slouching on a bike if you let yourself slouch. Posture is posture.

Gears are overrated.

If you're looking for fitness without compromising your (relative) comfort, you need to be as upright as possible. I forgot about your back surgeries - the riding position of much anything else is going to give your back fits.

Here: This one is a three-speed

Older Dawes are made in England and are pretty good bikes. The newer ones have no affiliation to the previous company. If memory serves, the new ones are Chinese junk. But even crappy bike companies put out a good bike now and then. You would need to look at the components and the frame material.

Lol, that old bike is fun to ride. The Uni that came with it was a 20" Schwinn, good original saddle. I also have a 24'.

If anyone is looking for a cheap bike, I have a couple of them. Especially if you want a project bike. I have a Haro in a box for someones kid. Let me know what your looking for and PM me. I will start making a list. You never know what we may have around. Especially if you want something vintage. Price is conducive to condition.

And here is my English made Dawes single speed.

Is a carbon fiber Giant considered a decent bike. I got one for $100 that a guy bought and never rode. It rides nice...

Is this a serious question? Cause yeah most carbon giants are very nice frames. And at $100 you stole it.

Definitely a serious question. I don't know crap about bikes. I like this one and it gives my 37 year old ass some exercise.

At one point suspension bikes were probably the cats pajamas, but now every Wal Mart bike has it.

Is it an STS? Those were pretty sweet back in the day.

Edit: Oops, just remembered GT made the STS, not Giant.

Picked this one up today. It's the 60 dollar one that I posted earlier.

Is it full carbon? How old is it and what model? You probably got one hell of a good deal
